LITTLE FAIRIES.
In the 1880's there were released a series of fairy tale collections titled for fairies. The Blue Fairy Book being the most famous. Several of the stories included in this anthology were being published in English for the first time, including the stories collected by the Brothers Grimm.
I have no idea if this 1950's set of four dolls was inspired by those books although it does seem possible as several of the outfits are of a fairytale theme. It's a lovely little set.
