ROMANCE DOLLS.

I don't know much about this set from the 1950s except that the dolls are attractive and the outfits colorful with lots of Hats which are my favorite part of any paper doll set. In those days before the 11 inch fashion doll was introduced I can imagine this book being very appealing to the little girl in the Five and Dime store.

 

PRINCE VALIANT

PRINCE VALIANT.

This Sunday comic strip created in 1937 and still running today follows the adventures of a noble knight and his fair lady Aleta. The fantasy look at the Middle Ages is reflected in the very colorful costumes depicted in this set. Somehow today's costume designers have given everything from that period a grungy monochromatic look which is totally wrong. Ancient times, just like today, were awash with color so the clothes seen here are probably more accurate than you might believe.

Beautiful Mexican actress with a career spanning over 50 years in Hollywood and internationally. She is presented here with some of the fashions worn in her films.

From their early days in countless Western films, through success on radio and then television in the 1950s when this set was issued, Roy and Dale were the King & Queen of the cowboys. There's some seriously fancy western wear on display here and a bi-fold background to pose the dolls in front of. Happy Trails!

This delightful set comes from England in the 1920's. The cover art is so sweet that I just had to include it. This is a wonderful example of child's fashion from that period with some whimsical costumes thrown in to boot.
