MERRY MERMAIDS

MERRY MERMAIDS.
This is another example of a set being repurposed. Originally one half of a 1946 set titled Jaunty Juniors, the two dolls have been substantially redrawn while the clothes remain exactly the same.
This abbreviated set was sold as a souvenir at attractions which featured live "mermaid" shows in underwater theaters such as Weeki Wachee Springs in Florida or Aquarina Springs in Texas, where my sister picked up her copy while we were on family vacation in the mid 1960's. My mother though it was funny that the fashions were 20 years out of date but I don't think my sister cared.
