FESTIVAL OF BRITAIN PAPER DOLLS. The Festival of Britain was held in 1951 on the 100th anniversary of the Great Exhibition of 1851 spearheaded by Prince Albert and Queen Victoria. Many souvenirs could be had including this interesting paper doll book showing British children in period dress across the centuries.
If these clothes look "fuzzy" to you it is because some details on them were flocked in different colors. So not real fabric as advertised but a tactile experience for those who purchased this rather charming set.
