MADAME ALEXANDER STORYBOOK DOLL. Beatrice Alexander of New York created the Madame Alexander portrait dolls in the 1930's. These storybook character dolls date from the 1950's onward and the originals are worth quite a bit of money today. Here is a paper doll version.
