BOSTON HERALD DOLL

BOSTON HERALD DOLL.
Every Sunday in 1895 the Boston Herald newspaper would publish a new full color gown to fit this doll. This is an excellent overview of late Victorian women's fashion during a time when clothes were still being created by hand specifically for the wearer by dressmakers.
I have added a little hatbox folder to keep the delicate little hats in and a trunk folder for storing the doll and her gowns.
[Glue or tape the sides and back of the trunk pieces together leaving the top edge open so you can slip the items and the hat box inside.]

THE ARCHIES

THE ARCHIES.
Dating all the way back to the 1940's Archie, Betty, Jughead and Veronica were the masthead characters of the Archie Comics empire. In the late 1960's these characters were re-invented to appeal to a more modern pre-teen audience and appeared in their own TV cartoon show.
This set was an offshoot from that renewed popularity especially after the cartoon band scored a surprise hit single with the song "Sugar, Sugar".

DORIS DAY - IT'S MAGIC

DORIS DAY - IT'S MAGIC.
I haven't done a mash-up in awhile and this set from 1957 offered a perfect opportunity to do so. This was one of those "magic" paper dolls where you rubbed the surface of the doll and the clothes stayed on like magic....except they usually didn't. So aside from adding a different head to make the doll look more like Doris I have added new tabs to all of the outfits turning this into a traditional paper doll.
I think the resulting modified set came out really well and she looks great in these fashions.
