BARBIE, SKIPPER & SKOOTER.
Here Barbie and her sister Skipper take Skipper's friend Skooter on a shopping spree, probably for back to school clothes. I have turned the original folder artwork into a tri-fold background to pose the dolls in front of as they try on their new purchases. Of course Barbie couldn't resist picking up a couple of things for herself as well.

EVALIN, A SPANISH FILM STAR

EVALIN, A SPANISH FILM STAR.
I'm really liking these boldly drawn yet subtly colored Spanish munecas recortables. I especially enjoy those like Evalin here with her period clothes. Very nice.

Here are the remaining two dolls in this set. I posted the first three yesterday.
More very nice fashions from the 1940's.

GIRLFRIENDS 1940'S - BUNNY, KITTY & SUSIE

GIRLFRIENDS 1940'S - BUNNY, KITTY & SUSIE.
This was a big 5 doll set with loads of wonderful 1940's fashions. The dolls themselves are lovely with demure poses. Working as a costume designer in the theater I often needed to replicate the look of some of these outfits and studying the paper dolls really helped to keep things authentic.
I will post the other 2 dolls tomorrow.
[As with most of the sets that I post here some digital cleanup was required to bring them back to life. Also, as I have noticed before, a couple of the outfits were miss-labeled on their tabs so I have corrected this to identify them for the correct doll.]

CARMELITA

CARMELITA.
I am somewhat taken with these big brightly colored dolls from Mexico. They are so cute and the fashions are both whimsical and attractive.

CAREER GIRLS 1955

CAREER GIRLS 1955.
The message of these "Career" sets was pretty clear back in the day. Young women were "girls" until they married and if they chose to work the options were pretty much always limited to secretary, stewardess, teacher, ballet dancer or actress......until they married.
We've come a long way in 70 years for sure.
